Planned National Grid ESO Outage - Thursday 13 August 2020 11:30 and 12:30 (BST)
Originally published by Kristine Mae Parungao on 13/08/2020 09:50:17

What has happened?

We have been notified by National Grid ESO (NGESO) that there will be an emergency outage between 11:30 and 12:30 (BST) today, Thursday 13 August 2020.

This outage is to fix a fault on one of their routers that is used to connect to a number of European systems, ENTSOE Awareness System (EAS). This router also carries Electronic Data Transfer (EDT) data for some market participants.

NGESO have identified all users and contacted them directly to inform them of the potential need to use their backup connections.

There is no impact on the Balancing Mechanism (BM) systems and the data will be published to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) as normal. Control Points will be unaffected and no impact to Electronic Data Logging (EDL) data is expected.

What do I need to do?

You do not need to take any specific action but just note the impact of the outage.

Do I need to take any further action?
