EDF publishing Profiled REMIT Messages
What is happening?
EDF Energy will start using profiled messages for all future and current messages after close of trading on 28 February 2019. EDF confirmed, “In order to move to this new message format all current and future non-profiled messages will be set to dismissed and profiled messages published in their place. We plan to start cutover at 17:00 (GMT) on 28 February and after that time new active messages for our profiles will be published first and then non profiled messages dismissed resulting in a temporary period of duplication.” So, during this period of duplication, we expect that both types of message will be published.
How will I be impacted?
Market participants should note that during EDF’s cutover on the 28 February, there will be a significantly larger volume of REMIT messages published on the BMRS website, APIs, Data Push Service and TIBCO and as a result participants may experience a delay in the publication of their REMIT message. A profiled REMIT message for an outage normally include the main outage event and multiple capacity changes (up to 200) over the duration of the outage. Therefore the move to profiled message should greatly reduce the amount of REMIT messages EDF publishes on BMRS in the future.
