Enhancement to Structure of B1610 API on BMRS

What is happening?
ELEXON has recently been working on improving the output of the API for European Transparency Article 16.1 (a) (B1610 - Actual Generation Output Per Generation Unit) on the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS). We plan to deploy the changes to BMRS production on Thursday 21 February 2019.

How will I be impacted?
The API Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), data returned and format of the data will remain unchanged as currently documented in the BMRS API Guide. However, the structure of the XML response will be revised to use an enhanced hierarchical structure to improve on the size, performance and readability of the APIs. This change will also be reflected on the BMRS website, including the XML and CSV downloads.

Users who currently request the B1610 data via the API may need to make adjustments to ensure they continue to process the data. We have included a zip file on the ELEXON website which contains the new XML Schema Definition (XSD) along with sample of XML and CSV files.

Is there anything else I need to know?
We have already contacted users who request this API last week. For more information on this Circular, please email
