National Grid unplanned MODIS outage this morning (Friday 14 September 2018)

National Grid has informed us that it experienced an unplanned Market Operation Data Interface System (MODIS) outage this morning which prevented normal reporting to the Balancing Mechanism Reporting Service (BMRS) or ENTSO-e for European Transparency Regulation Data (ETR), Loss of Load Probability (LoLP) and REMIT submissions from National Grid and external market participants.

The outage started around 03:15 and LoLP reporting recommenced at 09:00, with external access to MODIS restored at 10:15 for the purposes of communicating ETR and REMIT information. There is likely to be a delay in receipt of acknowledgement messages.

National Grid apologises for any inconvenience and is currently investigating the root cause of this outage to prevent any recurrence.
