NHHDA Party Agent Software
During the upgrade for the Party Agent Software from Oracle 11g to Oracle 12c, two Non Half-Hourly Data Aggregators (NHHDAs) experienced problems with Aggregation process. This lead to duplication of records in the D0041 report generated in NHHDA resulting in the Supplier Volume Allocation Agent (SVAA) being unable to load the files for the daily Volume Allocation Run (VAR). The two NHHDAs raised service desk calls and a workaround script was shared with the affected Party Agents to fix the incorrect D0041 files for subsequent VAR.
The root cause was due to a defect in the coding of a module (nmi_prr) within the executable file (nmi.exe) of the application. A detailed analysis and testing was carried out on all the modules of the executable and no further issues were identified within the full build on Oracle 12c.
A patch has been developed to address the issue above. The patch has been tested by both NHHDAs who confirmed they are satisfied once the patch has been deployed, the application will create the D0041 as expected in the version 12c. The formal patch along with deployment instructions have been shared with both NHHDAs who will both deploy the patch in their production environment imminently.
NHHDAs who wish to upgrade to Oracle 12c, will require the deployment of the nhhda full build followed by nhhda_patch_12.0.1.tar.gz, as detailed in the deployment instructions.
ELEXON request that NHHDAs who are ready to upgrade to contact the support team (email@example.com) and this will ensure the right level of support is provided.
