What is happening?

System Prices for Settlement Periods 26 and 27 were reported as £0/MWh on the BMRS yesterday, Settlement Date 6 June 2018. In the two Settlement Periods the System Price calculation required the System Price to default to the Market Index Price. However, Market Index Data could not be processed by BSC Central systems. Consequently, a default Market Index Price of £0/MWh was used in the calculation.

More information on how the Imbalance Price is calculated can be found in our Imbalance Prices guidance document.

Will the Imbalance Price Change?

Yes. Market Index Data has now been processed and the Imbalance Prices will be re-calculated at the II Settlement Run.

The correct Market Index Price that will be used to calculate the Imbalance Prices are:

Settlement Period

Market Index Price

26

£52.83/MWh

27

£50.64/MWh

How will I be impacted?

There is no impact on BSC Settlement processes, the System Prices will be calculated using the Market Index Price at the II Settlement Run for Credit Cover Percentage calculations and data flows.

The BMRS prices are for indicative purposes and will not be recalculated. System Prices calculated with the best available data will be published on the ELEXON Portal.
