The usual cause of the missing XSec service is that XSec was not installed using Run as administrator when right clicking on setup.exe. XSec needs administrative rights when installing to create the XSec Windows service.
Please try the following to fix this issue:
- Uninstall XSec. This is done by going to Control Panel > Uninstall a Program and selecting XSec
- Extract all the files from the XSec zip file (e.g. XSec_(M)_v3_1_64bit.zip) by right clicking on the file and selecting Extract All. Do no run the installer from the zip file.
- Once the file have been extracted you should have a folder with the following files: ParticipantToBSCTestFile.txt, setup.exe, XSec_End_User_Software_Licence_v2_0.docx and XSEC_UserGuide.doc
- Do not double click on setup.exe, instead right click on setup.exe and select Run as Administrator.
- Continue with the installation.
